Official Narrative

American singer and songwriter who was best known as the lead vocalist of rock band Linking Park. He was also the lead vocalist of the bands Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, and Stone Temple Pilots. While on vacation in Arizona with his wife and family, Bennington returned home alone, saying he had work to do. Shortly before 9:00 a.m. PDT on July 20, 2017, Bennington was found dead by his housekeeper at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California. His death was ruled as suicide by hanging. Bennington left no suicide note.

A close friend of Beningham, Chris Cornell another singer song writer, also allegedly committed suicide by hanging earlier that year on 18.5.2017.
