Thanks for that Allspark. Graham Hancock is a thought provoking gentleman. Lots of interesting ideas. Liked that he mentioned Hy Brasil which was apparently a famous place for resonance healing.

Good to have the alternative view on Egyptology

I like Graham Hancock, but his forum leaves a lot to be desired. It is run by a bunch of stupid, snob moderators that cannot have a debate even if they tried. This was my experience of their forum about three years ago before I came on here.

I remember one subject I brought up concerning the concoction: "Ayahuaska", since this is the stuff that Graham Hancock talks about a lot in his books and videos, and I wanted to know if anyone else had tried it from the forum.

I got shot down for that and banned from the site. Some bloody, little trumped-up bastard e-mailed me later on saying: "I was encouraging people on the forum to take drugs". What an attitude (I told him what he could do with himself and his kind). I've never taken drugs myself, I just wanted to know about the experience of others, beside Graham's experience.

This is why I do not agree that moderators should be given the responsibility to run forums, the power goes to their heads, and can destroy the good work (building up a site) of people like Graham Hancock.

It's a good job this site is not policed (freedom of speech) in such a way, it's a mature forum and I think on the whole we have the balance just about right.

I also find it incredulous that hordes of idiots believe anything about what some guy experienced on (really hard to get ) drugs and at the same time decry (easy to get ) drugs , do they not see the irony ?

I've not been to join any other forums. This was my first..... and probably last. From what I've read of others experiences on other forums, the freedom of speech issue looms large. Mind you, i did laugh when he who shall not be mentioned got booted from the DI forum. I agree with what you say Joe. Also, taking certain drugs is a personal choice and not something anyone can dictate to you about, in particular if you are intelligent and well informed on the subject ( which is exactly how Graham Hancock did it )

Indeed. I remember when Graham Hancock first appeared on the BBC and he blew our minds with his refreshing brand of anthropology. Then he must have headed off to explore his mind. He tuerned up on Edge Media looking different, more considered but troubled. Now he looks so calm, open, at peace, mature- a good advert for taking recreational herbs/drinks

This is my one and only forum experience- not even thought about any others as this one inspires ideas and answers questions I am exploring

Sad that some are so ignorant and scared. I dabbled a little in the past with some substances and eventually confessed to my parents telling them about what it was like, what I had taken and how it had changed me for the better despite at some points feeling strange in the aftermath of acid. I asked them if they had tried anything in the 60s/70s. They laughed and said it was only the 'Flower People' in London that did that kind of thing!! The strongest things they had were whiskey and woodbines in a smoky jazz club!
Aye, it's grim up north!!!!

USS Liberty

http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/ussliberty.html

I was 8 at the time but can remember the 6 day war for two reasons.

1) My 9th birthday was in a few day's time and as a child I was terrified bombs would start dropping so I wouldn't be getting any presents or a party.

2) The school, a very modern, 1958 built primary so the same age as me, had a practise run of providing meals etc with out cooking facilities. I recall having everything grated; carrots, cabbage, swede, a small amount of cheese. No boiled veg and no cooked dinners for a few days.

When I think back now this was probably my first experience of making ready for war. I can rmember the testing of air raid sirens, usually at 11 am for some reason. In school we were told to listen out the bell (a single hand held bell). When we heard it we had to get under our desks.

We thought it was all a game the teachers were playing, totally unaware of the 'games' our world leaders were playing with us.

How did the 6 day war effect others on here, old enough to remember it?

Duck and cover eh? We'd probably be better off doing that than believing the shite we're pedalled nowadays.
