Let me first of all say I'm a great believer in re-using, as far as is reasonably practicable, all resources such as glass, plastics, metals etc.
Further to the above, the 5p carrier bag con trick.
A mate, John, single and a taxi driver went to do his weekly shop at A*D*
last week. He payed for his groceries then went to pack them in used carrier bags from another supermarket only to be STOPPED, PREVENTED FROM USING THEM AND ORDERED TO BUY SUFFICIENT 5p A*D* BAGS TO HOLD HIS SHOPPING
by a member of their staff. What an absolute bloody disgrace!
I thought the idea of the 5p bag tax was to encourage us to re-use old carrier bags and save the planet. NOT to provide an opportunistic supermarket with an open goal to charge US for advertising THEM!
I told him to go to Aldi or Lidl. They've always encouraged the re-use of ANYTHING to carry home your discount shopping.
