They say the chunk of Japan that was washed out to sea by the tsunami will be landing on the Canadian and American coast line in the next few days. They claim it is one thousand by two thousand miles big. Where are they going to put it all?

Good comments. I wonder does anyone think these Nuclear Stations are necessary? Surely there are better ways?

Another place your hard-earned money goes.............

Friends Of The Earth & WWF Recieved Billions From EU To Promote AGW Scam

The UK Met Office has found itself in a very embarrassing position, an avid promoter of the Anthropogenic Global Warming scam, has had to admit there has been no warming for the last 15 years.

Yeah! So does that mean I don't have to teach eco-fascism in school anymore? Doubt it! I am all for taking care of and respecting our environment, but why schools have to get pupils,( sorry not allowed to call them that any more- 'learners' is the latest buzz word) to account for the schools global footprint, I have no idea- surely that's for the 6 figure salary earners to work out in the comfort of their fancy offices?

WWF- any organisation with Phillip as the patron has to be suspect.

MY TIME WITH "THE OTHER SIDE". MY CONFESSION.

Some time ago, I was sucked into the global warming illusion. I entered a competition to write a script for a 30 second TV ad to emphasise the 'switch it off' media propaganda movement. I didn't win the competition but a very similarly worded 'public information film' was shown. I claim retained copyright in the following:-

Italics are the 'instructions' to the visual effects dept. Bold type is the voiceover.

Aerial shots of streets, switching from one to another.
Imagine a street, any street. Your mate's street, your daughter's street, your aunt's street, maybe even your street.

Camera lands taking ground shots of houses, zooming into one.
Picture a house in that street, your neighbour's house, the house across the road, any house, even your house.

Camera wandering through the house, family noises in background, zooms into computer station.
In that house is a computer, on stand-by. It's ticking over, drawing maybe 200 Watts of power. It's waiting, just waiting to be used. Standing by.

Aerial shot of a street with10 houses outlined in glowing red.
Imagine 10 houses in that street each with a computer on stand-by. Together they're drawing, eating, burning 2000 Watts, 2 kiloWatts of power.

Zoom out from street into higher and higher altitudes to 'space shot' of Britain.
Now imagine all of the streets in the country, all with computers burning thousands of Watts all just waiting, sitting on stand-by.

Shots of power stations and vapour from cooling towers.
Hundreds of thousands of computers eating, burning, millions upon millions of Watts of power. All just waiting, sitting on stand by, waiting, just waiting.

Are you on stand-by for global warming?

Shot of pc screen with mouse pointing to shut down button.
Switch it off!

Incidentally, since reading HM Gummint's instructions on disposal of damaged/broken CFL's (compact fluorescent lights or low energy bulbs) I've come to the conclusion it's all a crock of shite. (Evacuate the room. Ventilate for at least 15 mins. Gather the broken bits wearing heavy gloves and preferably a dust mask. Place bits in a sealed container then take to your local waste disposal facility. The same disposal instructions apply to failed CFL's!!!)

Now THAT'S REALLY GONNA SAVE THE PLANET, using half a gallon of petrol to get rid of every failled or broken CFL.... After all, you can't be expected to store hazardous waste at home, can you. Unless we get yet another bloody wheelie bin!

DILEMMA

Marion's kitchen clock has been losing time over the past couple of weeks. It needed a new battery. She said it wasn't a problem as she has some spares, Duracell (R) alkalines. (Other alkaline batteries are available.)

But what do I do with the OLD alkaline battery? It says on it that I can't bung it in the bin and the council haven't given us a battery bin. We can't keep it as old batteries can corrode and leak. Alkalines can leak nasty, caustic stuff.

Should I go in the car the 5 mies to the local tip, sorry, waste processing plant and use about a third of a gallon of road fuel (approx 1.5 litres as I don't want to fall foul of the metric banana police)?

Seriously, WHAT are we really supposed to do with these batteries? I foresee a time in the not-too-distant-future when we have to pay a disposal fine or tax on such things.

I was prompted to write this as on Information TV the guy just spoke about a popular US magazine reporting on climate change. The front cover featured a polar bear on shrinking ice and had a headline saying now was the time to be very afraid. The speaker announced that apparantly the same magazine is printed on non-recyclable paper! Feckin hypocrites!

People, have you as yet met your new mate Roger More? You will!

(Osborne, are you reading this?)

We're lucky in our area; we don't have many types of "recycle" bins - just 1 big green wheely-bin which we chuck all products for recycling into - and the council sort it all out. How they do this, I don't know - but it all probably ends up on a slow boat to China!! What do they do with it?? Send it to their new best buddies, the Africans??
Actually, a couple of miles from our town is a lovely village where "They" have designs on building a feckin' "Incinerator" - what do they intend to burn, I wonder?? Obviously, the locals [mainly tory types, I guess] are protesting about this, but as we know, if it is decided to build it, it will be built.
