Yes, I remember the day when Bono & Geldof were sat next to Tony Blair at a press conference. "New Labour" brainwashed the two of them. A P.R. stunt by Blair and they were happy to oblige.

Pop stars cannot solve any of the worlds problems, the main reason being is because other than writing and singing songs they are chocolate fire guards. If you were marooned on a desert Island with them, you would eat them first then try and find a way home.

The problem arises, because their music makes them feel like they are important with millions of mindless people screaming at them all the time, they actually start to believe they must not be a chocolate fireguard and fool themselves into thinking they have something to offer. Midge fucking Ure, Bono, Robbie Williams "against the MP3". Paul "prat" Mcartney.

Mixed in with it all is a feeling of guilt that they have because they are so rich but haven't done any real work, so they think they have to "give something back" by setting up charities.

To use one of Starseeds expressions "FUCK OFF MUSICIANS" stick to your strumming.

Having said that I liked it when Bob Geldof was on Band Aid and thumped his fist on the table and shouted,

"FUCK THE VIDEO, JUST SEND THE FUCKING MONEY"

The presenters didn't know what say, that was class. Bust as you say it solved nothing because the African crises are all political and they did not change any of the African or other Govermnets into getting rid of corruption.

Yes - It`s NOT musicians at all!

It`s Twats Like Geldof / Bono etc.

Self righteous arse holes who think that what they say makes any difference at all.

Especially Geldof who was (and is) a complete nobody who used live aid to raise his non profile (and wealth).

don`t pick on muso`s in general they are decent sorts in the main.

What I am saying is they become famous for being good at music and then suddenly think they are an authority on other things. When in reality your next door neighbours granny would be a better advocate of the subject.

So in other words they abuse the platform they have by talking shit. Eddy Izzard is another entertainer who thinks he has valid politics. What a tit he is. There is an endless list of people who are good at certain things but use it to talk shit.

In any case I have written a song actually

Even the likes of John Lennon, who is probably noted as one of the best "political" type musicians if you watch his interviews was crap at speaking and motivating. He was all over the place at times when he spoke, very insecure and not that good at getting his point across.

BUT

His music was the best.

He was famous before he met Paula Yates, whilst his actions motivated people into helping stop a nation starving to death. Whilst his actions caused his own bankrupcy.

The point I was making is that when peoples actions help others or inspire others to act then they do so because of the values they hold, not because of self interest, aliens or any divine relatives.

I just had an email of someone and they commented on the photos on Mark Cockings interview

P.S - I'm particularly intrigued when I saw the two pictures of Larry Grayson on the coffee table during Mark's interview? - I know of someone who knew him in life and cannot speak more lovingly and highly of him - Can I ask why the photos of Larry on the coffee table please? Thanks

Oh, man - My mum and Dad took me to see Larry Grayson when I was very young. Funny as fuck. Sadly missed. We used to live not all that far from him too.

You know how I said musicians don't make good orators / advocates. Well I don't make a good musician. I did write a song for my partner but it is not a patch on "Not Peart". It's like comparing someone who can only do 3 keepy ups with David Beckham. I am not a musician, but I massively appreciate people who are.

If I give you access to my song, you must promise that "Not Peart" will re-do the song (once they find a singer).
