RICHPLANET.NET:
I had an email exchange with his mother and the whole thing has got them truly stressed and depressed

I can only imagine the stress he must be under, perhaps I should have given it abit more thought. If he does end up in a US prison then with any luck the whole UFO thing will come closer to public attention, thats the only positive. Perhaps if our governments didn,t hide so much then we wouldn,t need to pry, having said that hacking into nasa and pentagon files is not a very good move.
Shame on Jackie Smith and the rest of our bum licking excuse for a government,I really feel sorry for this poor man, he only wants to know about UFO,s !!! We have a right to know, after all they do work for us but they lie constantly and tell us only what they chose.
I wonder what he found ?

Mckinnon claims to have accessed a PC which held sensitive photographs. The files on the PC were split into 2 folders, touched up and original (for want of a better word). He accessed the oiginal one and started to open images. The images he accessed were many megabytes in size and he only had a dial up connection. In order to view them over a slow connection he reduced the resolution of his browser in order to see them. He claims that he saw what looked like a UFO in low resolution. It was at this point that somebody in NASA saw that he was controlling the mouse on that PC and closed his connection. He claims the image on his screen, because it was only in his browser had not been saved to the hard disk and was therefore lost.

Maybe he saw, or has evidence of other things which he has not spoken about yet.

All I know is that he had hacked into over 100 sites over the coarse of 12 months. Sky news reported " he CLAIMS to have been looking for ufo evidence ". I think he was, he,s just a normal joe soap not really understanding the implications of his activities, thats the impression I get. If any one can shed more light on his discoveries,I,d love to hear it.

He knew what he was doing, he got lucky by finding a way in, then just got arrogant, got stupid and got caught. I've no sympathy for hackers.

OK. but it may be the only way get to the full extent of the information held. Also the amount of effort being exerted to get him back to the US arouses my curiosity

gary mckinnon has Asperger's syndrome there is an online petition if you would like to help?

http://www.petitiononline.com/AAA12345/petition.html

LONDON (AFP) A Briton accused of hacking into NASA computers should not be extradited to the US due to his mental health, a lawyer said Tuesday, adding that he was eccentric and "passionate" about UFOs.

We've all seen the horrors of "Prisoner Cell Block H", so would you do it even if it meant going to prison?

But let us not forget he only got in because those using mainframe systems he accessed were all using default passwords. A securiity system that bad is a slur on the good name of rubbish.

Yes and cause such stir about it that disclosure would be unavoidable, better than living in a lie and at least you could say " I changed the world and my name will go down in history with all the other couragious men and woman that has served humanity by standing up for truth.
Martin Luther King , Ghandi , Nelson Mandela and others did not make necessary changes for the betterment of mankind by shying away when threatened.

Does it really matter if the inquirary into the Iraq war is public or not ? The results will be the same, in any case the deed is done and dusted and thats that, it,ll all happen again somewhere. Its like in the US, Bush[the big bad wolf] did all the dirty work, the public could smell a rat so they[the real government] found Obama. I always found it strange how the republicans couldntelect a stronger opponent than 150 year old John McCain.
The people of the US were duped into thinking that they got rid of the bad guy and voted in the messiah who will set them free." Tonite, beccause of what we did today, change has come to America". Yeah, rght.
Someone once said that that governments are put in power to keep things the same, not change them. The democracy we think we live in is an illusion, the agender remains the same.I recently saw a documentary on Afghanistan, the young men there are all asking the same question " why are we here?"No invading country has ever won a war against the Afghans, its awaste of time and young life. To fight "terrorists" is a ridiculous reason, the only reason we have a problen know is because we hit them first.

The Iraq war was nothing to do with oil or human rights.
It all happened because Saddam Hussein wouldn`t join
the World Agreement that gives over control of the Earth
to our invaders....I wonder who they are !

i belive it does matter DS, what has national security got to do with the reason not to mention the ethics for going into afghanistan? if the government of a "Democracy" does not answer to the people then it is not a democracy. And if it`s not answering to the people who does it answer to? we are slowly slipping into a facist dictatorship and unless we the people stand up for our rights they will continue to take them away. :(
