UFO Sighting 20/2/10
See: URL
I saw these strange lights in the sky at 22.35 this evening, the 20th February 2010. I observed them for about 3 to 4 minutes. Sadly, because I didn't press the record button straight away, I only caught the last few in camera. They were orange or amber in colour and flew in a loose formation of 8 or 10 northeast over Oxford, England. After a minute or two they slowed down, flickered and went out. The reason I stopped filming before they disappeared was because the battery was very low and I was worried my camera, a mobile phone, would go flat and switch off withouit saving the film. Were they Chinese Lanterns? If so why did they fly so fast; there was almost no wind, and how did they slow down? Also the little wind around is a south-easterly; I checked with the Met Office. Im not sure enough to make an official UFO sightings report. Judging their altitude is difficult, but they were visible from a 20 or 25 degree elevation as they appeared in the southwest. And as you can hear in the video, my Extremely-Proud-and-Dignified-Brother-Porter Massoud also witnessed the lights and he was on the other side of the road. Tomorrow at the hospital I'll ask him what elevation he thought they were at and that will mean we can triangulate a rough altitude. What do you think?
congratulations HC is this your first sighting? i dont think they are lanterns as there position stays relitive and your description of how they came to a stop. i have seen your post on here and DI and i don`t think you are the type to fake anything to get your jollies,so your word is good enough for me.
nice catch keep that camera handy mate it only gets better from here on in. ;)
