I saw what at first I thought was a 'shooting star'. It was a bright 'dot' that was quite a way into the distance. Then it stopped suddenly and retraced its path back at break neck speed. It started kind of dancing around, it did this for around 2 minutes, and then dissapeared.
Hi again gemgem,
Its good to here peoples experiences, some will say Venus, hot air ballon etc.,but we know.
I dont think I have recalled my first experience, so here goes.
Back in the 70's, I was a warehouseman on goods inwards, at a place that I worked at for 22 years.
I am not sure of the date, but I think it was late October.
About seven of us were standing on the loading bay, it was the back end of the day, we had unloaded all the wagons, and were sort of winding down, having a fag (You could in those days !!), and having a natter before we went home.
The loading bays faced north, and the sun was just going down to our left, it was a wonderful clear evening, with a lovely sunset.
I cannot remember who noticed the thing first, but someone said "Whats that?".
Slightly to our right and well up in the sky was this egg shaped object, it must have been some size because although it was at a good hight, it was bigger than a plane. We were only 4 miles from Leeds/Bradford airport, so we were used to planes, landing and taking off.
As I said it was egg shaped, and the thing that stood out for me was that it was pink, I then realized that it must have been reflecting the sunset, so was possibly white or metalic.
It made no sound, as the planes did when they passed over, an left no vapour trail.
I am not very good at estimating the speed, but it was going at a fair lick.
I vanished out of site to the west in perhaps 20 seconds.
The good thing was we ALL saw it, and none of us had a clue what it was.
And thats what got me into the UFO thing.
