Hi all,

About 4 years ago, I was in my room looking out of my window at about 3am [I couldnt sleep]. I am from Ireland, close to Dublin.
I saw what at first I thought was a 'shooting star'. It was a bright 'dot' that was quite a way into the distance. Then it stopped suddenly and retraced its path back at break neck speed. It started kind of dancing around, it did this for around 2 minutes, and then dissapeared.

Hi again gemgem,
Its good to here peoples experiences, some will say Venus, hot air ballon etc.,but we know.
I dont think I have recalled my first experience, so here goes.
Back in the 70's, I was a warehouseman on goods inwards, at a place that I worked at for 22 years.
I am not sure of the date, but I think it was late October.
About seven of us were standing on the loading bay, it was the back end of the day, we had unloaded all the wagons, and were sort of winding down, having a fag (You could in those days !!), and having a natter before we went home.
The loading bays faced north, and the sun was just going down to our left, it was a wonderful clear evening, with a lovely sunset.
I cannot remember who noticed the thing first, but someone said "Whats that?".
Slightly to our right and well up in the sky was this egg shaped object, it must have been some size because although it was at a good hight, it was bigger than a plane. We were only 4 miles from Leeds/Bradford airport, so we were used to planes, landing and taking off.
As I said it was egg shaped, and the thing that stood out for me was that it was pink, I then realized that it must have been reflecting the sunset, so was possibly white or metalic.
It made no sound, as the planes did when they passed over, an left no vapour trail.
I am not very good at estimating the speed, but it was going at a fair lick.
I vanished out of site to the west in perhaps 20 seconds.
The good thing was we ALL saw it, and none of us had a clue what it was.
And thats what got me into the UFO thing.

UFO is spotted

A UFO sighting was reported to police on Thursday night.
A member of the public contacted police after they had seen orange flashing lights in the sky above New Mills.

The lights reportedly flew over his house twice at 10.25pm.

A police spokeswoman said: "He believed the lights to be too fast to be an aircraft and too quiet to be a helicopter."

UFO falls in Kazakhstan witnesses

http://www.russiatoday.com/Top_News/2009-05-14/UFO_falls_in_Kazakhstan___witnesses.ht ml

Residents of a western Kazakhstan town reported that they witnessed two silver objects fall from the sky on Wednesday night

It was at about 3AM. I was standing by my tractor when the guys started shouting: 'Look, there are some balls flying.' They were big and sparkling with yellow, red and green," an eyewitness told Interfax news agency over the phone.

According to the witnesses, the spherical objects were approximately 60 cm in diameter, had a silvery surface with what appeared to be a small opening. The UFOs failed to bend or dent when local residents attempted to strike them with their tools, and said the balls produced sparks when they attempted to do so.

A preliminary investigation has failed to identify the strange objects, but according to head of the local emergencies service Aleksandr Ivanov, they are most likely "fragments of a man-made aircraft."

He also noted that the region where the two spherical objects were discovered has no history of similar incidences.

"Objects fall on the areas bordering the Russian military test range Kapustin Yar, but here it's a rare thing. I'd say it's a first," he said.

The balls were found to pose no immediate threat to public health or the environment and were sent for further research to "a specialized organization."

More sightings of UFO

Published Date: 20 May 2009
MORE sightings of a possible UFO in the Berwick area earlier this month have been reported on a specialist website.
It follows a posting made on UK-UFO.co.uk and reported in the Berwick Advertiser last week about a bright orange light being seen in the skies above Tweedmouth on May 9.

Mark Charlton has now reported seeing the same mystery object from St Bartho

lomew's Crescent in Spittal around 10.30pm that day.

He said: "Me and my wife were standing on our conservatory steps when we saw an orange ball coming towards us from the Prior Park direction.

"It came over our house and then went out to sea and changed direction rapidly but smoothly to go south. It was travelling about the speed of a training RAF jet but there was no noise at all .

Another report was submitted by 'Garry' who saw something unusual at Foulden at 2.10am.

He said: "I was travelling home from work on the Chirnside to Berwick road and as approaching Foulden was distracted by a large white light travelling at a constant speed roughly about the height a helicopter usually travels.

"I first thought it may of been a plane but the light was too large for this plus there were no coloured flashing lights that a plane or helicopter has so ruled them out.

"I then thought it was a shooting star but this object was travelling too slowly and shooting stars are much smaller in size."

He continued: "I was reluctant to submit my posting until there were further sightings posted in the Berwick Advertiser but these sightings were of an orange light although this may be due to the fact of the street lights in Berwick.

"I saw the object only for about 20-30 seconds until it went out of view travelling towards Ayton direction. I then travelled through Foulden until there was more open viewing again but there were no other sightings.
