It sounds a bit like the old storage heaters I used to have in my flat, big heavy things and they had bricks inside which kept the heat radiating from a much wider area; maybe those flower pots work on the same principle, but on a smaller scale, (a pity there is no regulator).

Unless something more interesting is going on!, see: URL

IMHO if people writing pseudo scientific articles can't get their units right, their output is questionable at the very least.

Thanks for your reply nordsee.

I'm seriously thinking of making my own "Kandle Heeter™"; it will be interesting to try out this idea. By the way, as you have already mentioned on your website, I don't think "Kandle Heeter™" is a "spelling mistake", it's just a play on words, to make the name look unique for their product - many companies do this word alterations.

This is a pretty lousy programme, but it does briefly mention Eric Laithwaite. This is the man who invented the lineal electric motor which propells the maglev train, but he was rejected by his peers later in his career for his theory about gyroscopes and antigravity; from 39:00, see: URL That's about as close as you'll get to the heart of the matter in the mainstream. Here's a programme that goes into more details: URL

PROBLEM - It doesn't burn oil.

REACTION - Call him a loony.

SOLUTION - Go back to oil.

Here's a one for all you scientists:

If an aeroplane flies because air movement over the top of the wings results in lower pressure and the higher pressure underneath forces the wing up....
how do planes fly upside down?

I'm not sure nordsee220, however, I shall take a guess at this one: I don't think civil aircrafts can fly "upside down" (unless they are going into a crash dive), but military aircrafts maybe able to warp their wings to compensate for the air flow to travel in the same way as normal.

Additional: Could it be that military aircrafts are flying so fast and high up, they can do this upside-down manoeuvre only for a short period, before correcting - otherwise they will crash dive as well.

By the way nordsee220, I ordered an external HDD [1 TB] last week to back-up my entire hard drive using Norton Ghost and it arrived this morning, the device is so small as to what I imagined it would look like. The external HDD uses USB 3 (they claim it to be ten times faster than USB 2), but it is also compatible with a USB 2 connection - for which my computer has only (I wonder if it is an easy job to convert to USB 3).

Very true and I'd add "Science destroys progress".

Perpetual motion fascinates me. The drinking bird resembles it, but is not it. However it's a sign that there is an awareness of the issue. See: URL

@nordsee regardless if the wing is inverted or not, its up facing side still produces lower pressure and the down facing surface still produces higher pressure.

however, you do then have to consider the tail and other implications like the engines now being on top of the wings so, a slight correction in the vertical angle (nose pointing up or down) would be employed tp keep the plane flying (Angle of Attack)

Well thats my understanding of it.

Anti-G or Not?

Is this what it seems to be... and what exactly DOES it seem to be?

Thats a typical yt repost of something with a BS description, its the The WASP (Williams Aerial Systems Platform) aka he Williams X-Jet, created by Williams International, was a small, light-weight Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) system powered by a modified Williams F107 turbofan aircraft engine. It was designed to be operated by and carry one person and controlled by leaning in the direction of desired travel and adjusting the power. It could move in any direction, accelerate rapidly, hover, and rotate on its axis, staying aloft for up to 45 minutes and traveling at speeds up to 60 miles per hour (100 km/h). It was evaluated by the U.S. Army in the 1980s, and was deemed inferior to the capabilities of helicopters and small unmanned aircraft.

Other VTOL systems developed by Williams International included a jet-powered flying belt developed in 1969, which was powered by a Williams WR19 fanjet, and the WASP (Williams Aerial Systems Platform) developed in the 1970s, which was powered by the more powerful WR19-9. This vehicle was nicknamed "The Flying Pulpit".

The figure inside the anti-gravity platform appeared to look like a dummy, I tried to look very carefully at the video and I could see no motion from the supposed operator. If they had at least shown someone getting inside at the start, before take-off, then the video would have been a little more credible.

If we do have the technology to build anti-gravity crafts (and I would not be at all surprised), then they are making fun of the whole concept in showing that appalling video; are they trying to make us all laugh, to make us ridicule the idea, when all along anti-gravity crafts really do exist (and for along time).
